MASS CC EXPERIMENTS WITH MIDNITE CLASSES

Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, MA is experimenting with midnight classes. For the first time this fall the college is offering classes that run from 11:45pm to 2:45am. No other college has ever offered courses at his time of day.

Who would sign up for these classes? According to Wick Sloane who teaches College Writing 1, one of the midnight classes, there are two distinct groups of students. "Two thirds of my class this morning enrolled at midnight because all the day, evening and weekend sections were full. The rest have night jobs, most of them at hospitals, and one is a taxi dispatcher", Sloane explained in his article for Inside Higher Ed.

Read more about his class, students and their midnight class experience in Sloane's article for Inside Higer Ed.

Would you be willing to enroll in a midnight class?

I think I would, because my mind works best at night, a kind of second wind.
